After you complete your program requirements, you will need to go through a credentialing process through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. You must demonstrate that you meet the ARRT’s ethics and educational requirements. You will need to have your program director verify that you have completed the mandatory radiologic procedures. Then you will take a certification exam. When the ARRT approves your candidate status, you will be assigned a three month testing window. You will schedule your own exam through Pearson VUE. (If you don’t take the exam by the end of the testing window, you will need to pay another examination fee.)
Before you can work as a radiologic technologist in Mississippi, you will also need to register with the state. You can download the application from the board site.
