Health Care Pathways and Schools in Montana
Western Montana continues to change from a rural economy to one that is more diversified, with more jobs available in a variety of fields, including health care. According to the University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research, the health care workforce is projected to grow another 2.5% in 2008, creating roughly another 1,400 jobs.
It is also estimated that by the year 2020, one in five people in Montana will be over the age of 65. Montana has an estimated 276,000 baby boomers, and will in fact have the third-largest percentage of senior citizens in the country.
